We were very excited to have been chosen to participate in the episode “Water Fire Wall” for DIY Networks Yard Crashers! After meeting with one of the producers in January 2010, we were selected, and immediately got to work. We created a knock-out team to make sure that we would be prepared for the two day yard crash! This team was made up of Tropicscapes for Landscaping, BelAqua for the Water Feature, Soleic Cabinetry by Werever Products, Morningstar Electric, and Larry Mott with Gasbusters.
On Sunday, March 7th at the Lowes’ in South Tampa, Brooke & Tom Iarossi were chosen to have their yard ‘crashed’ out of 300 contestants. We were able to see the yard that Sunday evening to see what changes to our design needed to be made to accommodate their yard. We had two days to prepare for the project, and Wednesday, March 10th we began! It was a great time working and joking with Ahmed Hassan, host of “Yard Crashers”! He was very upbeat and made it easy to forget that the camera was rolling.
The Iarossi’s new yard consisted of an outdoor kitchen with Soleic cabinetry and Fire Magic Grill, raised paver patio with pergola, water feature with fire and outdoor lighting, beautiful plants and landscaping, a swing for their new daughter, and a crushed shell walkway to connect the areas together. Not only were we proud of the final product, but also we were the first team to complete the project before night fall! This was a great experience, and we were proud to be a part of it!
