Outdoor Impressions specializes in unique outdoor living spaces. Pergolas, arbors, and tiki huts are just another way we match our creative expertise with your personal style.
Nothing completes an outdoor living space like a pergola. Pergolas are primarily designed for adding aesthetic ambiance and dimension to your outdoor living spaces. Due to their open-air structure, pergolas provide partial shade, and are not designed to protect from rain.
- Our pergolas are custom designed and custom built to perfectly fit your outdoor living space. We build our pergolas out of pressure-treated wood, cedar or cypress depending on the style you are looking for.
- Pergolas are practical because they can provide shade, but they are also beautiful. Whether you are designing a contemporary, classic, or romantic outdoor living space, pergolas can add depth to your design.
- Pergolas can be built on raised patios or on separate patios reached by a paver or natural stone walkway.
- We can also build stone columns around the pergola posts, as seen in the pictures below.
- Sitting walls accommodate for more seating around and under your pergola.
- Outdoor Fireplaces also incorporate well into your pergola design adding dimension and privacy.

- If you have a large screen enclosure—we can also build pergolas inside the screen.
All of these options are functional and offer more opportunities to truly make your pergola a reflection of your personal tastes, and a genuine extension of your home.
If you would like more shade than what a traditional pergola offers, there are alternative shade options to make your outdoor living space more comfortable.
- Thatch, cloth, and aluminum roofs. Most of these coverings can be installed permanently or retractable/removable, and will fit in between your pergola beams.
- Crossing beams are another option which provides natural shade. The shade given by this type of covering can be seen in the example to the right.
- Vines and flowers provide a soft covering. Lattices and trellises are assisting structures for vines and flowers to grow through. This option keeps the outdoor living space comfortable, while also adding to its aesthetic beauty.
Arbors offer similar benefits to pergolas on a smaller scale. Arbors are great options for hanging swings and, like pergolas, vines and flowers can be trained to grow up the sides of arbors to create a romantic look. Arbors are also beautiful accent pieces to gardens and walkways. Not only do pergolas and arbors complete your outdoor living space, they also define your different outdoor living spaces by providing subtle separation between areas.
Tiki huts offer a tropical look to your space, which is great for entertaining. Tiki huts give the most shade and keep your outdoor living space dry when it rains. Tiki huts do require more maintenance than pergolas and usually require permits, whereas most pergolas do not.
