| Thin Pavers |
 |
Description
Thin Pavers have changed the paver industry. Several years ago some manufactures realized that by making a “thin” paver they could save the customer money, by allowing the customer to go over existing concrete instead of removing it. This has allowed us at Outdoor Impressions to do projects such as remodel pool decks and front entryways. Thin pavers are also great for existing patios and sidewalks.
Thin pavers are 1" - 1 1/4" thick after proper sand installation, a 1 ½” clearance is usually all that is needed to do a thin-paver overlay!
There are other products as well that accompany the thin-paver such as bull-nose coping and deco drains for pool decks. Thin pavers come in many sizes and colors, and most of the time can be matched with thick pavers for a uniform look.
Application
Thin Pavers are primary used around existing pool deck surfaces such as cool decking and acrylic painting. Thin pavers are also an excellent choice for any concrete surface that does not need to be removed. Thin pavers can be used on entryways, door pads, patios and balconies.( Outdoor Impressions DOES NOT recommend using a thin-paver on ANY driveway application per ICPI standards)
Sizes & Colors
Thin-pavers come in a variety of colors and sizes. One thing to not is that thin pavers have a smaller aspect ratio (width times the depth) than the full size pavers. So you won’t find large sizes in a thin-paver. Most popular size is the 3-piece with a 6x9, 6x6, and 6x4. Thin-pavers come in well over 40 standard colors. Benefits
The overall benefits of thin pavers are that it is less expensive due to the fact of not having to remove existing concrete. It can be used in some situations where a full paver would not fit. It is also a more DIY friendly product for you weekend warriors out there!
