Thick Pavers

Thick Pavers are used for driveway installations and jobs that will not cover pre-existing concrete. Because they are 2 & 5/8 inches thick, they are a very strong product. Their thickness also enables them to be tumbled which creates an antiqued look.

Thick pavers are installed over a 4-6" layer of crushed concrete base material and then laid on a 3/4" bed of concrete sand. Because the pavers are laid on-top of this concrete surface they can be compacted after install to provide a smooth surface. Driveways, patios and new construction pool decks are all great projects for thick pavers. They can also be used for columns, mailboxes and steps.

Thick Pavers are a very diverse product ranging in size from 4x4 to 16x16. A paver with rounded edges creates a look like cobblestone, or a straight edge creates a clean cut look.  Some thick pavers come with a textured top which is becoming a very popular new look. Thick Pavers also come in the same styles and colors as Thin Pavers. This means if you have an existing Thin Paver patio we can match the new pavers to the previous ones!

Absorption rate is important to consider when you are choosing a paver. Thick pavers allow water to flow through the paver to the ground preventing puddles on your patio. Concrete does not allow water to travel through to the ground, causing the patio to hold water in areas that are not perfectly level.
