Important questions to ask yourself when planning your outdoor kitchen:
- Do you have natural gas at your home now? And where is it located?
- Are you going to need electricity in your outdoor kitchen and how many outlets?
- Do you want seating around your outdoor kitchen? Example - high bar or built in table?
- Does your Outdoor Kitchen need ventilation (hood)? This is really one of those questions that are going to fall into three categories:
- Yes - I have to have one for my outdoor kitchen; it’s not an option for me.
- No - I absolutely do not need one for my outdoor kitchen.
- Not Now - This is what you need to answer if you want to see if your current area will give you the air flow/draft that you need to eliminate the smoke from your outdoor kitchen to your comfort level. Sometimes you don’t NEED a hood as much as it would be nice to have one; and, considering an outdoor kitchen hood will rarely be less than $3000, most people will choose to wait it out and see. Also make sure to check with your HOA to see if they require you to have a hood for your outdoor kitchen.
All of these questions are a good starting point in helping you with your Outdoor Kitchen, but please don’t get overwhelmed. We have a talented design team willing to help you plan out every aspect of your Outdoor Kitchen. Do I have to use granite countertops?
No. We have many other beautiful countertop options to fit your outdoor kitchen best.
How will my outdoor kitchen hold up outside?
We don’t use wood or metal studs, so there’s no bowing or disjointing to worry about. We use concrete cinder block construction so thatour outdoor kitchens can survive in this Florida heat and rain. We also provide Soleic Polymer Construction as an option, which is an incredible material for outdoor kitchens, made from a solid marine-grade polymer. So, if this polymer is made to be in water, it can surely protect your outdoor kitchen if it gets a little wet. They are weatherproof and waterproof, full of storage and functionality for your outdoor kitchen. Learn more at soleic.com or in our outdoor kitchen construction section In addition to construction, the exterior finishes that we apply to the outdoor kitchens are very protective and aesthetically pleasing too.
Can you match the outdoor kitchen to my house (color, materials, style, etc.)?
Yes we can and we would love to. Stucco house – how about a stucco outdoor kitchen? Stone-finished or brick house – how about a stacked stone outdoor kitchen? Modern house? A Soleic polymer outdoor kitchen is equally pleasing. We have many options to choose from; find yours.
I want a sink, but I don’t have a proper plumb for hot or cold water. What’s a good alternative connection?
A Cold Water only sink is a fine alternative, and we have an example here at the showroom on a stunning black Soleic outdoor kitchen design if you want to see what it looks like. Come see us.
How long does it take Outdoor Impressions to build and install my outdoor kitchen?
A Standard outdoor kitchen install will take 5 – 10 business days; however, depending on the complexity of your project design or area, or if you have an above average sized outdoor kitchen, the process may take up to 4 weeks.
Do the grills require natural gas or propane? Is one better than the other?
The grills can run on either type of gas (Fire Magic even makes a charcoal grill). Neither is “better” per say, but one may be a “better fit” for you. For example, some complications may occur in running the natural gas line from the house to the outdoor kitchen, like if your gas hook-up is in the front of the house and the outdoor kitchen is in the back. We had one customer that wanted natural gas for his outdoor kitchen, but his hook-up was not nearby. They were going to charge him $3000 to run gas from the hook-up to the outdoor kitchen! If you’re spending so much money on an outdoor kitchen anyway, you’ll need to cut costs where you can.
A propane tank can be easily stored beneath the grill in your outdoor kitchen, and is much cheaper than running an obstacle course with your natural gas connection. Find what best suits your outdoor kitchen, and we’ll get you hooked up (literally).
What kind of warranty do you offer for your work?
We offer a 5-year labor warranty on all of our outdoor kitchen work. The appliances warranties vary from one outdoor kitchen to the next, since people choose different appliances. But, our lowest outdoor kitchen appliance warranty is for 15 years, and most of the others include a lifetime product warranty. We use products that last. We build outdoor kitchens that last. You can trust us to build the first last outdoor kitchen you’ll ever own.
